Permanent rinks
A rink that lasts starts under the slab.
Frozen sub-soil expands. Left alone, it heaves the slab, cracks the floor and ends careers of refrigeration piping. Our proprietary Frost Shield sub-soil heating system sits below the insulation layer in a sand base and removes that risk before it starts.

Every rink contract comes with our consulting: revenue-focused floor planning that stops space creep, complete mechanical, electrical and resurfacer room layouts, site utility planning for sewer, water, power and gas, pre-mobilization checklists, equipment selection for refrigeration, dasherboards, resurfacers, skate rental and storage, noise mitigation for mechanical systems, and architectural support for compliance and permitting. Contracted clients also receive our proprietary technical specifications and installation documents.

Frequently asked
How long does a permanent rink take to build?
A permanent rink is a multi-month construction project. The floor alone involves sub-soil heating, insulation, piping and the slab pour, and it must be sequenced with the building, refrigeration and dasherboards. We publish sample project timelines to contracted clients during planning.
Can a portable rink run in a warm climate?
Yes. The Instant Ice mat has 35% more heat transfer surface than conventional mats, which is what lets it freeze faster and hold ice in warmer conditions when paired with correctly sized refrigeration and, outdoors, the right shading and dehumidification strategy.
Do you install on sand or concrete?
Both. Fusion Ice, Rapid Ice and Perma Ice are each suited to particular surfaces and project scales, and the portable systems work with or without a sand base.
What size can you build?
Anything from a community pocket rink to an NHL sheet at 200 by 85 feet or an Olympic sheet at 60 by 30 meters, plus skating tracks that wind for more than 1,000 feet.
